Lost Place Kerpen, Brüggen
If you leave the urban area of Brüggen, Kerpen on the Brüggener Strasse and follow the Liblarer Mühlengraben towards Gymnich you find a Lost Place. The small building at the edge of the field was obviously intended as a pumping station. Lots of pipes can be found inside and an old dilapidated pump. It was probably used to irrigate the neighbouring fields by pumping water out of the Liblarer Mühlengraben. The building’s roof is broken in places and part of the wall on the side of the field is broken but you can still see what it was used for. Verlässt man den bewohnten Bereich von Brüggen, Kerpen und folgt dem Liblarer Mühlengraben, findet man einen Lost Place. Das kleine Gebäude am Rande eines Feldes wurde als Pumphaus konzipiert. Im inneren befanden sich viele Rohre und eine alte Pumpe. Wahrscheinlich wurde es für die Bewässerung der Felder genutzt, in dem man aus dem Liblarer Mühlengraben Wasser entnommen hat. Das Dach ist kaputt und auf der Seite des Feldes klafft ein großes Loch in der Mauer aber man kann immer noch gut erkennen wofür es genutzt wurde. Lost Place, Wenholthausen, Eslohe
If you leave the urban area of Wenholthausen on the road Am Estenberg towards Eslohe you could have found a Lost Place – an abandoned Kneipp water-treading basin. The seat at one end was broken and the pool usually only held a little water, but lots of leaves and sticks. The picture below was taken on the 11th October 2022. On the 4th of March 2023 the basin was gone, demolished. Now a truly Lost Place that only lives on in this Blog and on Google Earth…
Verlässt man den bewohnten Bereich von Wenholthausen und folgt der Strasse Am Estenberg, so hätte man einen Lost Place finden können. Das alte Kneipp-Becken hielt nichtmehr das Wasser und die Sitzbank war schon kaputt. Das untere Bild wurde am 11.10.2022 aufgenommen. Am 4.03.2023 was alles schon wieder weg, zerstört und abtransportiert. Heute ein echtes Lost Place, dass nur noch auf Google Earth und diesem Blog weiterlebt…
